Dr. Ashish Kumar Jha is a leading  gastroenterologist and hepatologist in India, with vast experience of more than 16 years in his field. Post completing his DM (Gastroenterology) from SMS Medical College, Jaipur in 2010, Dr. Jha joined Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata, and rose to the level of adjunct associate Professor. In 2014 he joined the Department of gastroenterology, IGIMS, Patna, and rose to the level of additional professor where he worked for about 9-years before joining Medanta. He has vast experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, both adult and pediatrics.

Worked as a super-specialist resident in the Department of Gastroenterology, taking care of patients on OPD, in-patients and emergency departments. I also worked in the GI endoscopy lab., performing UGIE, LGIE, ERCP, liver biopsy, USG-guided liver abscess drainage, paracentesis, and therapeutic endoscopies. I used to participate in seminars, case presentations, journal club and other academic and research activities.

Junior Resident (Medicine), Department of Medicine, RNT Medical College, Udaipur, India, August 2003 to August 2006. I acquired supervised training in the management of patients in out-patients, in-patients and casualty with hands on experience in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumber puncture, bone marrow aspiration, etc. Also presented, various clinical cases and participated in journal clubs and taught various MBBS / BDS / BPT students the bedside clinical methods and took tutorials on various medical topics.
